Using the Walden Library

Using the Walden Library

Mental health and psychiatry are my areas of specialization. I am curious about the implications of using Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) to supervise therapeutic approaches, provide a prescription, and facilitate rehabilitation for individuals and their relatives. The academic paper chosen in connection to the practice field is by Finley (2019) titled “Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners meeting rural mental health challenges.” In the Walden Library’s Research by topic category, the search term “utilization psychiatric nurse practitioners” was entered. A collection of publications pulled from the Walden University Library’s Thoreau Multi-Database Search. The peer-reviewed journal was easily located throughout the search, and this database proved helpful. The repository would benefit my peers in this respect, considering the papers are peer-reviewed and suitable for MSN studying prerequisites (Walden University Library, n.d.). The only recommendation is to enter a range of relevant terms to provide numerous article possibilities.

According to Oermann et al. (2021), Any academic or professional project’s foundational text must be of high caliber. Audiences must feel confident that reliable, trustworthy publications support the literary analysis, and investigators and writers should be comfortable with the material they mention. In this respect, the integrity of the material is crucial for the growth of nursing theory and for giving current facts, thoughts, ideas, and caring methodologies, regardless of the investigation or assignment (Oermann et al., 2021). Freshman and postgraduate researchers can benefit from the Thoreau Multi-Database Search at Walden University Library, which offers access to a wide range of publications with the full version, including SAGE Publications, ScienceDirect, MEDLINE, and SocINDEX. The accessibility of complete content publications is one advantage of utilizing Thoreau (Walden University Library, n.d.).

Question

Where can you find evidence to inform your thoughts and scholarly writing? Throughout your degree program, you will use research literature to explore ideas, guide your thinking, and gain new insights. As you search the research literature, it is important to use resources that are peer-reviewed and from scholarly journals. You may already have some favourite online resources and databases that you use or have found useful in the past. For this Discussion, you explore databases available through the Walden Library.

Note: Unless otherwise noted, initial postings to Discussions are due on or before Day 3, and response postings are due on or before Day 6. You are required to participate in the Discussion on at least three different days (a different day for the main post and each response). It is important to adhere to the weekly time frame to allow others ample time to respond to your posting. In addition, you are expected to respond to questions directed toward your own initial posting in a timely manner.
