A legal issue is a law or policy concern in disagreement, and the outcome depends on the judge’s interpretation of the law to grant the direction. For example, in a particular instance in which the nursing professional disregards to do their job, causing the death of the client or a patient, and is brought to court by the board, the situation becomes an ethical consideration case because the professional violated the basic tenets of work by failing to control the chance of death of this patient.

A problem of law or policy in the nursing field requires the involvement of the judicial system to be addressed fairly and equally. Ethical consideration relates to confidentiality principles, which dictate that a nurse must not disclose a patient’s medical data to other parties. If clinicians want to keep their employment, they must work ethically and follow the principles (Singh, 2021). In nursing, practitioners are charged with saving lives. So, risk management is an approach including the identification, assessment, and eventual prevention or management of a problem or danger.

In the nursing workplace, ethical issues are linked to legal concerns as well as risk management. For instance, when a healthcare professional discloses patient results data, that must be resolved through legal proceedings because the nurse failed to manage the risk of revealing private patient data. This will now become a legal issue that can be brought before a tribunal and resolved through a royal procedure.

Because ethical problems are founded on moral right and wrong, a nurse’s performance will be evaluated. The legal and ethical issues are interrelated in that the legal process is used to assess the ethical issue. For example, it is ethical for a nurse not to disclose patient data, but once the practitioner exposes the data, it becomes a legal issue, and the professional may lose their job.

To avoid ethical mistakes or ethical lapses, practitioners must exercise extreme caution in their work to avoid making ethical errors or lapses. These errors or lapses are critical to changing the status of legal issues and risk management problems (Slemon, Jenkins, & Bungay, 2017). A well-prepared healthcare professional will be satisfied with their job because they can manage and monitor risks if they have had sufficient exposure to the job.

According to the ANA Code of Ethics, the nurse should respect the confidentiality and autonomy of the patients. This ethical code is crucial since looking at a patient’s data may lead to poor self-esteem and social stigma, putting the patient under additional stress and complicating their health situation even more. It is not ethical for a clinician to be careless in their job since it may lead to risks and losses in their work (Jacoby & Scruth, 2017). Thus, nurses should be dedicated. The nurse should cooperate with other healthcare providers and work as a team to safeguard human rights and reduce health problems for the benefit of the community.
